A Church School

Statement of Entitlement

St Luke's is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School and as such, we acknowledge that we are an integral part of the Christian presence in the Weaste community. Our Christian vision and mission is deeply rooted in our commitment to serve our community through our Biblical root;

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbour as you do yourself.’

Luke 10:27

Religious Education (RE) in Church schools should enable every child to flourish and to live life in all its fullness. (John 10:10). It will help educate for dignity and respect encouraging all to live well together.

Central to our RE, is the study of Christianity as a living and diverse faith, focused on the teaching of Jesus and the Church. There is a clear expectation that as inclusive communities, church schools provide sequenced learning about a range of religions and worldviews fostering respect for others.
