Who's in your family?

I'm the youngest of 3 Siblings

I am married and have 2 Children - William(3) and Annabel (1). My Wife is Called Katie


Why did you decided to be a Governor?

The Headteacher of a school is always on the Governing body - they help the head teacher run an efficient and effective school.


Why at St Luke's CE?

The enthusaism of the pupils, the smiles on the teachers and the wonderful building with colourful art everywhere, Easy decision!


Have you been or are you a governor anywhere else? (Do you have links with any other schools?)

Yes, I have been a staff governor in previous schools and have many linkes to schools in London and Abroad.


What is the most rewarding thing about being a governor?

Suppporing a school move forward and and improve.

It's important to have a feeling of helping your community in your life.


What have you learnt from being a governor you didn't know before?

Lots of new information about finance; governors roles and how they support the school.


What has been the most challenging thing you've being involved with?

I was present on a board the moved a scool towards becoming an  academy.


What's the most important thing about education/school to you?

Knowing each child as an individual - helping each child find their talent and finding their potential.


What do/did you do as a career?

Teacher, (Divemaster a longtime ago)


What do you do with your spare time?

Running, Cycling, Squash, Camping, Walking or Exploring


What was your time at School like? What did you most enjoy/find hard?

I loved school, especially PE and playtime.

I had to work hard at school - it didn't come easy


What subject did you enjoy most at Primary school? (Why?)





Who was your favourite teacher (why?)

Mr Friggins (secondary PE) He was passionate about sport and did training properly so we improved.


What's your favourite Colour? (Why?)

Blue - not sure why


What's your favourite film? (Why?)

'Gladiator' - very uplifting a 'good over evil film'

Important Documentation

Mr Delves confirmed that he has read the Department for Education "Keeping children Safe in Education - Part 1:Information for all school and college staff" (September 2016), and that he will use this information to guide him in his actions on behalf of the children of our school [October 2017].

Training Attended

Mr Delves attended 'The Role of the Governing Board in Safeguarding Course' held at school by the Local Authority on 6th November 2017.
