Family and Pastoral Support

I’m Julie Lomas, the Family Liaison Officer here at St Luke’s CE Primary School. My role is to support parents and carers to ensure their children can learn positively and flourish during their time at St. Lukes.

I liaise with all school staff and work closely with our pastoral officer Mrs Whealing. As part of the Safeguarding and Inclusion team, I work closely with outside agencies to support you and your child offering a confidential service to families at times when they may have changes in their lives or just need a bit of extra support. I’m here to listen and care and having access to an extensive range of information, I am able to signpost parents to a variety of services which may help.

Some examples of this support are:

Attendance
Friendship concerns
Transition to High School
Family circumstances affecting your child
Medical/Health concerns

Money/Debt worries
Simply put, a ‘listening ear’

I am available for informal chats in the playground or appointments, so please feel free to come up and say hello.

Finally, as a mum myself, I never forget how precious your children are and it is my aim to build strong relationships with you so every child is happy, thriving and fulfilling their potential.

A note for parents - all the information published in English on our school website is always available in other languages.  Please ask at the school office if you need any help or are interested in this service.  Thank you.

FAITH
  • Through our Christian school and ethos, we all aim to believe in ourselves, each other, our teachers, leaders and parents. With reflection and prayer, we trust in God that our prayers will be heard. We know that every child is a child of Jesus, treating everyone with respect and dignity that they deserve.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
    Matthew 7:7

WISDOM
  • We aim to build our pupils’ and teachers’ confidence, delight in their teaching & learning and discipline in seeking wisdom; gaining the truth, knowledge, understanding and skills they will need in their everyday lives. We offer a broad and inspiring curriculum that nurtures emotional intelligence, creativity and remembering of important knowledge. We teach and learn collaboratively leading to our pupils developing the life skills of learning.

    For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
    Proverbs 2:6

ASPIRATION
  • We aim to be the best we can be. Whilst nurturing our pupils’ and staff, we encourage and drive them to aspire to achieve their hopes and dreams. We are honest in the fact that this will take hard work, perseverance and resilience.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
    Jeremiah 29:11
