ERASMUS + PROJECT 2019 to 2022
From 2019 to 2022, members of school staff took part in an Erasmus + project with the objective of giving staff the necessary skills & knowledge to enable all children at our school- from Nursery to Year 6- to receive high-quality Spanish lessons.
Once funding had been secured, staff were given the opportunity to attend a week of intensive & immersive Spanish language lessons in Spain during the school holidays. Trips were made to both Valencia and Santander to attend these courses.
During the course, staff were able to visit a 'sister' school in Santander and learn how English is taught to Spanish children. As well as this, they had opportunities to network with other language teachers from across the UK to share teaching ideas and good practice. They were also able to get involved with a range of cultural activities such as Flamenco dancing and Spanish cuisine.
Staff said that the experience was hugely valuable and that they were now confident to deliver Spanish lessons at St. Luke's (many staff having no previous experience of Spanish).
Please see below for some pictures from the project.
